  • 10am: start at Johannisburg Palace, meet at Schlossbrücke bridge
    Walk of approx. 3.5km, easy/medium difficulty on mostly level terrain through
    - Offenes Schöntal,
    - Grossmutterwiese and Grünbrücke Park,
    - and Fasanerie Park.
    - Slight climb up Godelsberg hill (approx. 260m) to Teufelskanzel viewing point, an excellent place to take photos
  • 12.30pm: lunch in Fasanerie or Zeughaus
  • 2.30pm: meet on Stiftsplatz square, walk through the old quarter to Johannisburg Palace, and on through the Palace Park to the Pompeiianum (approx. 1.5km)
  • approx. 4.30pm: opportunity to visit the Pompeiianum

    - Schönbusch Park and Palace
  • Noon: lunch at Kulinarischer Schönbusch

  • 3pm: start along the northern route and part of the River Main Cycle Route
    Distance: approx. 24.7km; approx. 1.5 hours cycling, excluding breaks or stop-offs,easy/medium difficulty, mostly level terrain

    - Schöntal Park
    - The promenade on the Main river past the Pompeiianum
    - The unspoilt Steinbachtal valley and its myth-enshrouded ruins
